One Step Closer...

A view from the top of the stadium! Yes I performed in front of that HUGE crowd.
One Step Closer to achieving my biggest dreams! I have been blessed with so many amazing opportunities in my dance career and performing at the Jazz vs. Lakers game beats them all. I was incredibly blessed to perform at Energy Solutions on April 14th, 2014. It was the Utah Jazz's last game and it was against my all time favorite Los Angelous Lakers! It was very tempting to wear my Lakers jersey, but i decided since I was performing with the Utah Jazz Dancers I should probably represent them.

Being in the stadium, on the floor, with the Jazz players is an experience I will never forget. I was standing within inches of some of the greatest basketball players. As they warmed up and we marked formations I was able to talk to some of them. They would pass the ball back and forth barely missing an arm or leg or your face! It was really funny because as they passed the ball back and forth they would talk in their very umm.. southern?... accents. Saying things like "We aint gonna hit ya, we aint gonna hit ya, we might hit ya, but we probably won't hit ya." I couldn't help but laugh. Then, as I was getting ready to start my section in the dance I hear "heads" and I experienced the biggest flinch EVER in my whole lifetime, but the ball wasn't even that close. (But when you have grown up being a magnet to every ball you have ever walked by, when you hear heads you are grateful for the warning.) I continued to dance and waited for our comments at the end. We were told to run the routine one more time so I walked to my side of the gym floor, the music starts and I start to party on the sides with the other dancers.THEN, knowing I would manage to be a magnet at some point of the night, the player missed the rebound and I got hit in the back with the ball. The player apologized and gave me a pat on the back. Then we were released for dinner break.

I was able to eat dinner at this crazy Chinese restaurant! It had all kinds of food! We ate salad wraps and some chicken stuff and it was delicious! I did my best not to eat a great deal of food because I didn't want to perform with a FULL stomach. We walked back to the stadium and I went to the dressing room and got ready for the performance.

Most people would ask.. " Wasn't it scary to perform for that many people?"
I wouldn't say scary, I would say nerve wrecking, exciting, and the most amazing thing ever all at the same time. You have a train of emotions walking into big performance and competitions. Before you walk on the floor your nerves are going crazy and it is hard to control them! Then as you stand on the floor you are EXTREMELY excited, but you kinda want to pee your pants. Finally your music starts and the nerves fade away and you enjoy the experience and dance like there is no tomorrow. I can honestly say that the adrenaline I have when I perform is addicting and it was at an all time high at the Jazz game! Dancing is one of my passions and I have been blessed with several opportunities.I love dancing and I hope to take my talents to their fullest intent.
